Sky-City Reviews

Review for "Perfect" by Natasha Friend.

This book is about how nothing is "perfect." Not that girl in the magazine, the popular girl, your family, or someone else’s. In Isabelle’s world everything looks perfect on the outside but in the inside her family they are still sufferi ng from her Dads death 2 years earlier. Her mom is falling apart and Isabelle gets ratted out by her little sister for her bulimic eating disorder. Her mother makes her promise to go to group counseling where she sees Ashley the most popular girl in school who has the same disorder. Isabelle slowly begins to realize that nothing is "perfect" and her eating disorder is not helping her.

This book really made me think what life was like for people that lose someone they love. It also reminded me of how popular people are not "Perfect" despite what their actions make you think. The book really reminds you that nobody is all smiles and happy everyday, everyone has problems is what I believe to be the moral of the story. Isabelle also has a very negative self-image like many girls out there, you just need to realize that hurting yourself is not the way to deal with emotional trouble, no matter what. Overall this book really makes you think and I like that.

Rating: 9/10 at first you might read the review and think I don't want to read about someone who pukes all over the place but it is awesome book for anyone. It helps you realize lots of things about life and overall is just an awesome book for teens.
